Disney sold these tapes by the tens of millions; they are wonderfully nostalgic and almost never valuable. Most sell for a few dollars, and we generally don't buy them. Here's the part the rumor articles never tell you: households that bought Disney VHS tapes in the '80s and '90s usually bought other Disney things too — and those are what we buy. Tagged Disney Store plush, park souvenirs from family trips, pins, ceramics and figurines, ticket stubs and paper from old park visits — the box of vacation stuff in the same closet as the tapes is routinely worth more than every tape in the house.
